Joe C. Ablay, PE, CEM, GBE is the founder of ICI Engineers, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently an NCEES Record Holder. He has over 25 years of work experience in the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and energy systems for healthcare, entertainment, hotels, K-12 schools and higher education, commercial, retail, industrial, federal and institutional projects.

As practicing consulting engineer in Southern California and the United States, Joe Ablay has had the opportunity to work on various projects for design-build organizations such as Siemens, Aramark, Sodexo, CDM/Cape, HMC Incorporated and Control Air; various higher education campuses such as UCLA, CSULB, Riverside Community colleges; various AFCEE projects such as March Air Reserve Base, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Warren Air Force Base, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Beale Air Force Base, Laughlin Air force Base, Randolph Air force Base; various k-12 education campuses such as Los Angeles Unified School District, Capistrano Unified School District and various healthcare facilities such as Sharp Memorial Hospital, Ronald Reagan University Medical Center, Santa Monica University Orthpaedic Hospital, Simi Valley Hospital, Verdugo Hills Hospital, California Pacific Medical Centers, Sutter Hospital - Sacramento, Parrish Medical Center, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Connecticut Children's Hospital, and Silverlake Medical Center.

He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in the States of California, Arizona, Nevada, Connecticut, Washington, Utah, Texas, Wyoming, Guam, District of Columbia and Hawai'i.

Joe is an active member of Southern California ASHRAE, of which he has served as member of the board, chapter historian and SOLAIR Editor for several years.  He is currently a 2nd Vice President of the Filipino American Society of Architects and Engineers (FASAE), Southern California Chapter.  As an Association of Energy Engineer (AEE) 2008 region V Energy Engineer of the Year award recipient, he was elected as Legend in Energy by the board.  Currently he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) and Green Building Engineer (GBE).
